Adani Defence & Aerospace and Embraer have entered into a strategic partnership to collaborate on the development of a regional transport aircraft ecosystem in India. The parties executed a memorandum of understanding on January 27, 2026.
The partnership envisages collaboration across aircraft manufacturing, supply chain development, after-market services and pilot training. It also contemplates the establishment of an aircraft assembly line in India, with a phased approach towards indigenisation under India’s Regional Transport Aircraft (RTA) programme.
The transaction aligns with the Government of India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative and the UDAN scheme, with a focus on enhancing regional connectivity, particularly across Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
By leveraging Embraer’s global aerospace capabilities and Adani’s expanding aviation and infrastructure platform, the partnership is expected to support the development of a domestic aerospace ecosystem, including manufacturing, engineering and logistics capabilities, while strengthening bilateral economic engagement between India and Brazil.
